Nigerian Afrobeat superstar has spoken on reports of him welcoming a set of twins with his wife, Chioma.
The singer warned his fans to stop circulating old pictures of him and his wife on the internet.
The rumours were exacerbated when Davido posted on his X account that this week would be the best week of his lifetime. He tweeted, “Gonna be the best week of my life… 🥰😇 Amen”. Although there has not been an official statement from the couple, pictures of them are still circulating on social media. Davido wrote, “Stop circulating old pictures thank you ❤ ️”.
Netizens flood the comment section of the post, inciting him to confirm the authenticity of the rumour. Some people noted that he did not deny the rumour, he only warned fans not to spread old pictures. This has led to a controversy on whether or not the rumour is true.
The photos being disseminated are old pictures of when he welcomed his late son, Ifeanyi. Ifeanyi drowned in a pool at the singer’s house in the Banana Island area of Lagos State. Davido and his wife, Chioma, were said to have been out of the country, leaving the toddler with his custodians when the tragic incident struck.
While some celebrities have congratulated him on some social platforms, the superstar’s fans are patiently awaiting a confirmation from him.
