Rangers Appoint Clement As New Manager

Scottish side, Rangers Football Club has today appointed Philippe Clement as the Club’s new Manager on a contract till 2027.

Clement was appointed to replace Michael Beale who was sacked along with his backroom staff by Chief Executive of the Club, James Bisgrove, and Chairman, John Bennett after Rangers shockingly fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Aberdeen.

With Steve Davis appointed as interim Manager, the Club’s hunt for a long-term manager came down to the shortlist of candidates suggested to top decision-makers of the club for necessary interviews.

According to reports, top candidates like Frank Lampard, John Eustace, and Scott Parker failed to make the final shortlist ahead of the final interviews held in London earlier this week. Philippe Clement and Kevin Muscat made the final shortlist.

Despite Kevin Muscat’s record of winning the domestic treble as a player with Rangers in 2003, the A-League Title with Melbourne Victory, and the M-League title with Club Yokohama Marinos, the Rangers chiefs opted for Philippe Clement as the new Manager of the Club.

The new Rangers Gaffer had a successful period in Belgium, winning the Belgium Pro League three consecutive times with Genk and Club Brugge.

Following his appointment, Clement appreciated the Board of Rangers Football Club for allowing him to serve as the 19th manager of the club and looks forward to achieving great success with Rangers.

The Chairman of the Club, John Bennett congratulated Clement on his new appointment and revealed in his statement that Cement’s appointment came at the end of a thorough objective, and rigorous recruitment process in which Clement stood out to be the best Candidate for the job.

Clement is expected to meet the Squad on Monday in preparation for his first game in charge against Hibernian on Saturday which is followed shortly by an Europa League away fixture against Czech Republic side, Sparta Prague the following Tuesday.
