New Album: Basketmouth Releases “Uburu”

Bright Okpocha, professionally known as Basketmouth, has dropped his album “Uburu“.

Before dropping “Uburu”, Basketmouth made an announcement that he has changed his name in the music industry to “Bad Man Bob“.

“Uburu”, which is another term for a “brain” is a 7-track goodness that features outstanding artists. The artists are Shatta Wale, Bayanni, Peruzzi, Lojay, Falz, Laycon, Qing Madi, Victony, Boj, Duncan Mighty, Timi Dakolo and Torrian Ball.

Goal Keeper” features Shatta Wale and Bayanni. It sets the pace for the other melodious tracks to come. It talks about enjoying and the joy of having enough money at one’s disposal. While Shatta Wale’s Ghanaian dialect made this track an alluring bop, Bayanni’s budding musical style complements it by driving the chorus.

Party“, featuring Peruzzi, is evidently a party shaker. As its title implies, it is a high-tempo sound that carries on the vibes set by the introductory track. Its beats and instrumentals mostly do the work and the artist hammers on the hook of the song.

Lojay’s captivating and sensual vocal makes “Jolie Jelof” the perfect love song for the perfect lover. The lyrics emanate from a passionate experience with an effeminate being.

Basketmouth features Falz and Laycon on “Koko“. Laycon, handling the chorus, comes through with his signature intellectual rap full of innuendos. Falz, known as Falz the Bahd Guy, does not disappoint his fans as he delivers a masterfully crafted verse.

Qing Madi and Victony made magic in “Cover Me“. The coordination of sounds complements beautifully. The fusion of strings and drums in the background provides a rhythmic landing for the lyrics. The song discusses love and affection in an unusual manner.

In “Link Up“, Boj and Duncan Mighty flex their vocal prowesses. They both deliver a seamless and pleasant tune. Duncan Mighty further establishes himself as a veteran with his verse on this track.

Chasing Dreams” ends the album on a note of determination and resilience.

The album was produced by Dukter Sett.
