Cleric Supports Tinubu’s Students’ Loan Policy

Rev. Sam Aboyeji, the General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s students’ loan scheme policy. Aboyeji expressed his backing for the policy during the unveiling of a multimillion-naira hostel constructed for McPherson University by the Foursquare Ministers’ Welfare Scheme.

He emphasized that the student loan initiative acts as a means to level the educational playing field, offering students from less privileged backgrounds a chance to attend school alongside their wealthier counterparts. Aboyeji highlighted that this policy aligns with global practices, pointing out that even a former President of the United States recently completed paying off a student loan.

He praised the administration for the initiative, urging students to take full advantage of this opportunity once it is fully operational to pursue their aspirations for higher education. “The students’ loan is common worldwide. It levels the playing field for intellectually gifted individuals who lack the means due to their backgrounds. It’s a positive step, and I encourage swift progress,” he stated.

He encouraged students to seize the opportunity once it is active to fulfill their dream of higher education and he also emphasizes its importance and the need for everyone’s backing. To him, this is a golden opportunity to achieve something tangible in life.

He expressed his vision to position the institution among the most reputable universities in Africa. Igbasan emphasized their openness to ideas, suggestions, and partnerships that would elevate the institution to a model and sought-after center of learning.

The management team’s aim, as conveyed by Igbasan, is to make McPherson University a reference point among faith-based universities in Africa, welcoming contributions and collaborations to enhance its status and academic excellence.
