Real Madrid Thumps Barcelona In Super Cup Final

Spanish Giants Real Madrid ran riots over rivals Barcelona to win the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

A first-half hat trick from Brazilian forward Vinicius jr and the late sending off of Barcelona defender Araujo was enough to give Carlo Ancelotti’s side an emphatic 4-1 victory.

The Galacticos opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the game as Jude Bellingham located Vinicius in the penalty area. The Brazilian forward rounded up Inaki Pena and put the ball into the back of the net.

Vinicius doubled Real Madrid’s advantage barely three minutes later as he slid in to redirect Rodrygo’s cross into the Barcelona net, giving Real Madrid a convincing 2-0 lead so early in the game.

Barcelona took the game to Real Madrid as a response to going behind by two goals. Ferran Torres struck the frame of the post and Robert Lewandowski forced a save from Andriy Lunin.

The Polish striker Lewandowski brought Barcelona back into the game in the 33rd minute after pulling one back via a volley from the edge of the penalty area to turn up the beacon of hope for the Catalans.

However, it was short-lived as Real Madrid was awarded a penalty six minutes later. Araujo had his arm wrapped around Vinicius’ neck and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty and the culprit was shown a yellow card.

Vinicius completed his first half Hat trick as he converted from the spot to re-establish Real Madrid’s two-goal lead going into halftime.

Into the second half, Barcelona Manager Xavi made three changes but they couldn’t make any difference in the game as Real Madrid increased their lead four minutes after the hour mark.

A cross from Vinicius was intercepted by Jukes Kounde but unfortunately for the Barcelona defender, it went straight into the path of Rodrygo, who struck it beyond the reach of Pena.

Things got from bad to worse for Barcelona after Araujo brought down Vinicius in an attempt to clear the ball and was sent off following his second yellow card of the night.

With the job done, Ancelloti pulled out Vinicius from the game as attention turns to the Copa Del Rey clash against Atletico Madrid.
