President Bola Tinubu hails the triumphant efforts of Tantita Security Services Limited and other agencies in their relentless fight against oil theft. Their collaboration has proven to be a game-changer, yielding remarkable results.
During an inspection of the recently apprehended vessel MT. Kali in Oporoza, Delta State, the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, conveyed the President’s commendation and vowed to take stern action against oil thieves and their backers.
To set an example, Musa declared that the seized vessel would be forcefully destroyed, serving as a powerful deterrent to any potential wrongdoers.
In an impassioned plea, Musa urged the media to refrain from sowing discord between the government and private security agencies who are working hand-in-hand to achieve extraordinary outcomes.
Highlighting the significance of the operation, Musa stated, “This arrest is a monumental achievement, underscoring our unwavering commitment to thwart criminal activities in our maritime domain.”
He emphasized the collaborative nature of the mission, praising the joint efforts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, federal agencies, private security agencies, and all stakeholders involved.
Musa vehemently asserted, “We stand united as Nigerians; this is our homeland. The criminal elements responsible for these acts must be stopped, and I urge all Nigerians to unite in this endeavour
Drawing attention to the gravity of the situation, Musa somberly expressed, “Our beloved country is bleeding. To foster growth and development, we require every resource at our disposal. Only by eradicating criminals like these can we realize our nation’s true potential.”
Furthermore, he disclosed that the suspects apprehended would be thoroughly investigated by the Chief of Defense Intelligence, leaving no stone unturned in uncovering the truth behind the criminal activities, including the identities of the masterminds, the stolen assets, and their sources.
Musa cautioned those involved, declaring, “The ground troops are just pawns in this grand scheme. The real orchestrators are still at large. Let this serve as a stern warning to those who refuse to cease their illicit activities—enough is enough!”
He also emphasized the unwavering solidarity among all security stakeholders, regardless of their domain, assuring, “Whether it be the Armed Forces, security agencies, communities, or private security agencies contracted by the Federal Government, we are bound together in this mission. There is no room for competition; rather, we stand united as one formidable force.”
Let us not forget that back in August 2023, Tantita Security Services achieved another significant victory when they successfully intercepted the vessel MT PRAISEL, accompanied by a Navy gunboat in the intricate waterways of Delta State.
