Famous Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has been announced as one of the performers lineup for the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy, on Monday, January 22, announced the African Giant alongside Travis Scott and Luke Combs as additional performers for the award ceremony.
They will join previously announced Grammy performers Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo.
Burna Boy was nominated in four categories at the 66th Grammy Awards. He was nominated for Best Global Album for ‘I Told Them…’, Best Melodic Rap for ‘Sitting’ On Top Of The World’, Best Global Music Performance for ‘Alone’ and ‘Best African Music Performance’ for ‘City Boys’.
American rapper Travis Scott is nominated for Best Rap Album for ‘Utopia’ while Luke Combs is nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for his version of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’.
The first set of performers – Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo – are all up for the Song of the Year award.
At just 22 years old, Billie Eilish is one of the most celebrated musicians. The seven-time Grammy winner received six nominations. Five of these nominations are for her single ‘What Was I Made For?’ from the Barbie soundtrack.
Dua Lipa is nominated for two Grammy awards with ‘Dance The Night’ up for Song of the Year while Olivia Rodrigo is nominated for six Grammys with ‘Vampire’ up for Song of the Year.
The 66th Grammy Awards is set to hold on February 4, 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Viewers can watch Music’s Biggest Night on CBS Television Network.
