The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has inaugurated a committee that involves the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC in the state for the payment of the backlog of gratuities owed to civil servants ranging from 2015, 2016 and 2017.
According to a statement released by the State NLC Acting Secretary, Ahmed Abubakar, the affected persons are required to meet at the Ministry of Finance on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
The governor directed the affected individuals to come along with authenticated documents certifying their retirement from service.
Furthermore, the statement indicated that local government retirees from 2011, 2012, and 2013 are also expected to gather at the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on the appointed date with the necessary documents for verification.
The verification process will involve the submission of approved computed pay slips, identification cards, retirement notifications, and bank account details. Cooperation and participation from all affected individuals have been encouraged to facilitate the successful completion of this task.
“The local government retirees from 2011, 2012 and 2013 are to meet at the Ministry for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs on the same date, same time with the same documents for the same purpose”, the statement added.
“Part of what is needed during the verification exercise includes the approved computed pay slip, notification of retirement, Identification cards and bank account details”
“We therefore at this juncture urge every affected person(s) to please ensure full cooperation and participation to achieve this laudable task.”
