Tragic IED Explosion Claims Lives of Six Almajiri Students in Borno

Yesterday, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated in Gubio town, Borno State, and it resulted in the heart-wrenching demise of six Quranic school pupils, commonly referred to as Almajirai in the local Hausa language.

According to authoritative sources, the catastrophe occurred on Saturday, January 27, when a metal scavenger unknowingly gathered and stored various metallic items in a structure near a Tsangaya school. Unbeknownst to the scavenger, among the collected metal was an abandoned, undetonated IED, which tragically exploded at approximately 2 pm.

The blast sent shockwaves through the community and later claimed the lives of six innocent children attending the Quranic school and inflicting severe bodily harm on others in the vicinity.
